Comcast/Xfinity experienced nationwide trouble/outage with many of it's services Monday, President's day. They say for about 3 hours they lost a lot of their HD related services.

Sounds like an all the eggs in one basket thing. Must say it's not a surprise that one location could affect the whole country because many utilities transmit their service all over the country if not out of state.

Do the customers get a day off their bill?

"Do their Customers get a day off their bill?" Doubtful. Comcast, like most Cable companies, is losing market share, and its long term prospects are not that great. All the cable/satellite providers are jacking their rates up as their customer base slowly declines, and more people are going to services like Netflix, and Google, etc. Our DishNetwork bill went up $5 a month this year, and one of the neighbors who has DirectTV saw a $15 a month increase. Our local Electric Co-op is in the process of installing Fiber Optics in the area, and we hope to get their service around April. The same TV, Internet, and phone service we now get through Windstream will cost us $35 a month less via the Co-op. These larger cable companies are Not keeping up with competition and technology, and they are going to lose even more in the future.

Hmmmm, I wonder what time of day that happened, sure didn't effect me between the hours Mon 10 am and 2 am this morning on. I know we were experience some crazy weather Sun and again Monday. Last night, I thought the entire building was going to go out, but even then, that was after 12 am.

Most reports say it was in the morning being restored by early afternoon. Reports of trouble spiked around 9.
