This video was taken about 3 weeks ago..long.. but you can dip in and out, or fast forward but it captures an exact winter day in January in The City of London.. which you may or may not know describes the financial district.. and not the whole of London. At 1hr 38m you'll see a beautiful shot of Tower bridge

"Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."
— Samuel Johnson 1777

I remember years ago when I took an American girlfriend to London. I’ve had a few American girlfriends – not all at the same time I hasten to add. Errrr… anyway, she couldn’t get over how busy it was late at night. She was so nervous at the amount of people out on the street – she had never seen anything like it. We were in & around Leicester Square at the time.

Oh yes as we know London is often as busy at night as it is in the daytime...

I always thought it amusing that the Eurostar Train from France to London used to terminate at Waterloo Station. Apparently, or allegedly, some French passengers on Eurostar were not always happy about being reminded of Napoleon Bonaparte’s defeat every time they entered the city. Talk about rubbing a nation’s nose into it!

I've been to London several times on both business and pleasure. It is one of my favorite cities. We rode the double-decker bus, had fish & chips in a pub and bought last-minute tickets to a couple of shows in the West End. If I remember correctly, they were for Spamalot and Avenue Q. We also did more in-depth tours and were present for the Changing of the Guards.

I was with a cruise line in 2010, and Twiggy was our godmother. She was the spokesperson for Marx & Spencer. I chatted with her, and she was charming.

I would so love to go back!

Our family trips to London by train (Braintree to Witham to Liverpool Station) was always a fun outing.
Seems we never had enough time to see and experience all the City offered.
Every once in a while, the wife and I would head to London for some 'Grown-Up' fun.
