Comfortable lightweight armchair for shrimp

This is particularly addressed to Princess-and-pea types. Does anyone know how to search Date-Range on search engines and yahoo answers, so I can search archives?

I've been trying these terms on yahoo answers to no avail:
comfortable lightweight armchair for shrimp

I cannot easily get to an IKEA store or even more local due to having no car.

But assume POANG's are comfortable, yet still, I'm not sure if a high back is or is not indicated for me, since my head might get hot if it doesn't breath.

I find that if I lie on a couch, I need to prop up the cushion more upright (rather than slanty)
but I need to fling up my hair, so that I'm not resting on my hair, otherwise I'm uncomfortable.

Given that, how would that translate to a high-back Poang? With all that, I still think I need a high back for true comfort.
But is there any with flexibility at the neck, since I can get a crick there, as well as headaches?

Thanks for any feedback from princess-and-pea-types.

I don't know much about giving directions on internet searching. I just type in what I want on google and I'm usually able to find it.

Our couch and recliner are made for tall people and I am short. Nothing here is comfortable for me except the bed and the adjustable computer chairs. I do have lawn chairs I like so I can sit outside too. :) I have to prop my feet up in the house and outside because my feet don't reach the floor. Our living room is small so I don't try to force anymore furniture in here but I could if I'd get rid of some of my bookcases, which I will not do. Sorry, I guess I don't have an answer for you enk. If you find what you want online I suggest you get it through Amazon where you can get it delivered free. Since they do free delivery (I think my daughter has to pay $25 a year for Amazon Prime) my daughter buys everything from paper towels to briquettes for the BBQ online.

I just reread your post. As far as getting a hot head from a high backed chair, I don't know about that. But if there is a high back with a bump on it (like my husband's recliner) it makes my head tip forward and I imagine I can't breath properly and then with my feet way off the floor I am very uncomfortable. I am not a hair flinger so I can't help you with that.

Maybe you need to have someone measure 'seat to back of neck' when you're sitting on a kitchen chair and then you can look at the dimensions of the chairs that you see advertised. That might be a way to focus in on a suitable chair or at least a place to start?

Thank you both for your responses! :)
I'll probably have to try to get to a mall or something to see if I can find armchairs to try out, just so I get an idea. How I wish I could get to try an Ikea Poang.

Can you not just order the Poang from Ikea online? As Debby said....measure with a kitchen chair first. Ikea usually has dimensions of everything online. If not the dimensions you need, email them.

My daughter had 2 of those Poang chairs from Ikea about 5 or 6 years ago...I found them to be very uncomfortable. I'm short, and the edge of the chair cuts into my thighs, it's quite low to sit on so it's not the easiest chair to rise up from if you have mobility problems ...and there's very little lumbar support ...oh and also the arms are wooden so that's uncomfortable too for any length of time, I kept knocking my elbows on them.

If I were you I'd really think about something that's a little more comfortable...

Have a look here at some of the reviews of the poang chairs..

Thanks all - for all the helpful info! And hollydolly thanks so much for the informative link! So I take it that lightweight-armchair and comfy-armchair are mutually exclusive?
