Wearing my new dress yesterday, a neighbour came past and asked “Where did you get that dress” so I told her, thinking she was going to say how nice it was, and she replied, “Only I want to get some for my mum, she’s in a home and likes to sit in the garden” I asked her how old her mum was and she said 86 !!!

It made me feel ancient, cheeky minx !

It's pretty Wren! I think she wanted her mother to feel younger and prettier when she said that.

Sounds like she was giving you a compliment Wren but forgot to actually tell you how much she liked your dress ....might say she was a little absent minded.....The colors and print are great by the way.

That looks fabulous on you and I agree with the others that it’s a compliment. The dress instantly reminded her that her mom likes bright, cheerful, sunny dresses to sit in the garden and look pretty. She just either forgot or isn’t the complimentary type. It’s beautiful.

Yesterday I saw my friend for the first time since covid. I don’t have a Costco membership and my iPad died on Monday and they had a good deal so she took me.

She said I was looking good....how could she tell? I had on a face mask and sunglasses. We had a good laugh about that.

When I was a kid, I was praticing for my first Holy Communion. The nuns had taught us a hymn to sing at the service.. We were rehearsing our parts, when the priest came by. When it came to singing the hymn, I sang it with all my heart. The priest came over to me, and told me to "just pray".
