Common crimes experienced by older residents in your area?

I'm curious to learn what you may know about crimes commonly affecting older locals of your community or region. Not so much about street violence in bad parts of town later in the evening, which some forethought can usually prevent. Also not thinking about big-picture stuff like deficiencies of government programs (results of political policies, bureaucratic practices, etc).

I'm thinking about crimes with perpetrators — for example, vandalism, trespass, theft (whether burglary or from the back yard). Or maybe it's some other form of crime. Are older locals being targeted in certain ways?

Crime is exceedingly rare in my neighborhood. The worst I heard is stealing UPS type packages from communal table near mailboxes. So, I have my packages sent to my son who has 24 hour doorman. I wait a few days to get them, but know they are safe.

My co-op installed more cameras, and have tracked most thefts to the idiot dealer's customers. Idiot dealer lives on second floor. His mother is a good friend, but she can't face facts.
