Computer Finally Conked Out

Haven't been around for a few days. I just got a new refurbished Dell Desktop computer for $170.00. It has Windows 11 and a lot of bells and whistles.
:)
Good to have you back. If I could ask, where did you get the refurbished Dell desktop computer?

Let us know if you like windows 11, @Beezer

If you use any of its newer bells and whistles, I would guess you'll enjoy it.

Having any computer that works is the most important thing! (Glad you got one)

but myself, I'm dissapointed by the windows 11......

LibreOffice suite consists of programs for word processing, creating and editing spreadsheets, slideshows, diagrams, and drawings, working with databases, and composing mathematical formulae. It is available in 115 languages. Windows, Mac, Linux. And it's free.

Thanks very much, I will check this one out !!!
Just a heads up, if you are opening your .doc files you created in Excel, you may find some of the formating different, there are syntax differences in some of the formulas you may have to adjust for. I don't often get documents from Excel users but over the years I've had a few that I had to make changes to.

I keep my finances/checkbook in a spreadsheet. I am using OnlyOffice and having good luck. I love LibreOffice for everything else.

OnlyOffice, do you use the free version? Files stay online? How much space do they give you? What's the default format?
I know it's open source and controlled by Ascensio Systems out of Singapore, that's about all I know.

I have a friend 3000 miles away that I wouldn't mind sharing projects with, sounds better than emailing them back and forth like we do now.

I do use the free version. I am just a home user so file storage/sharing is not an issue. I do use the free version. No online storage space from them.

Good to be back.

So give me all of the gossip! What did I miss the last few days? :)
We're all meeting at Area 51 to get on the spaceship. Now, what day was that? Is it April 1 or June 15th? Did I write that down.....? Did ANYONE write that down? 🚀👾 (Old people and all of our "memory problems" are in the news so I am playing along.)

Good luck with it Beezer. That's a great price! I've always heard that refurbished is sometimes better than new. My son bought a refurbished Apple lap top, keeps all of his music stuff on it and hadn't had any problems for a long time. I'll be joining you as a Dell user soon (I hope). I'm waiting for the President's Day sales to see if I can get a new Dell gamer at a nice price at Micro Center or Costco (I've been warned to avoid buying from Best Buy). If not, by then I'll be so "too through" with this Mac, that I'll buy one anyway.
