It took about 10 minutes each time for it to recover. Both times I was looking at prepaid cell phones on the Family Dollar web site.
Didn't work for the freezing. Ctrl Alt Delete is my first go-to.It doesn't happen often but, Ctrl, Alt, Delete always works for me.
Not a question of fighting progress, don't want to spend the money. Do not use computer for personal stuff, i.e. banking. Use only for this place and a few others like it.Really OLD operating systems like Windows 7 have a tough time navigating modern websites, with the really out-of-date browsers W7 has available.. I'm not even going to expound on how NOT SECURE it is, attempting to surf the internet with out-of-date, un-patched software. 3rd party web browsers like Chrome and Firefox will only offer backwards compatible software for so long, but their future profits are in the future, so that's where their attention is focused.
Don't fight progress, embrace it and reap the benefits.
Unplug for a few seconds is all. Checked connections first, a-ok. Most electronic stuff today fixed by unplugging for a minute. What did you disconnect from what?
A lot laptops don't have batteries anymore, but taking out the battery always worked......or unplugging a desktop.Didn't work for the freezing. Ctrl Alt Delete is my first go-to.
I agree. Unfortunately shutting it down didnāt work for me this time around. I really donāt have a clue what it was.Unplug for a few seconds is all. Checked connections first, a-ok. Most electronic stuff today fixed by unplugging for a minute.
They actually do have batteries, but they're not easily replaceable by the average user.A lot laptops don't have batteries anymore, but taking out the battery always worked......or unplugging a desktop.
I have several good ad blockers and able to block quite a bit. Even down to certain people and subjects. I won't do without them now. Many websites are problematic, most often even the honest ones with no malware just have too many ads. Worse yet... far too many people use ad-blocker add-ins, which causes the site to try to get more and more clever bypassing ad blocking. In the end the web pages can end up being a very heavy burden on your machine.
Do you clean the cooling fan vents once in while? It took about 10 minutes each time for it to recover. Both times I was looking at prepaid cell phones on the Family Dollar web site.
I find a mouthful of profanities at the screen helpful. It doesn't get the computer restarted but it makes me feel better.Weird. My old Windows 7 froze this morning too. I disconnected then reconnected and all was well again.
Maybe only this site froze? That sometimes happens. It only happened on the Family Dollar website and when I was looking at prepaid phones. If it happened once, I'd say it was a fluke, but twice doing the same thing?
