Data from Public Health England (PHE) shows that among the 1,076 deaths of people aged over 50, 30% were unvaccinated, 9% had had one dose and 61% were fully-vaccinated.

The rate shifts for those under 50: Almost two-thirds of the 113 people under 50 who have died in England with the delta variant were unvaccinated.

As with all "flu" vaccinations, the antibodies decline much faster in seniors. With the coronavirus vaccine, some studies showed antibodies declined in seniors by more than 50% in as little as a few months.

Seniors are less likely to make antibodies at all following vaccination. Same for the obese. The main reason I've seen cited are higher levels of chronic inflammation with age and excess weight prohibit a successful response.
