Conclave... A great movie!

It is a movie with an all-star cast including Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow and Isabella Rossellini among others. The premise is that a Pope dies and another needs to be chosen. Priests are flown in from all over the world and, slowly but surely, the characters of those wishing to become Pope are revealed.

There are a couple of great twists. The process reminded me very much of our American politics and that the Catholic Church is so much about politics and appearance. I'm not at all religious but I loved this movie! BTW we saw it at the theater.

It gets fairly high reviews at Rotten Tomatoes. It might be interesting.

I had an opportunity to be with priests in the evening, when they relaxed. It was cigars and brandy. All they talked about was which monsignor was angling for bishop, and which bishop was angling for cardinal, and which bishop had the best chances, and which bishop to work for, so to get ahead.
