MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Amidst the tragedy of the Surfside condo collapse, there’s a story of remarkable strength and determination.

Angela Gonzalez and her 16-year-old daughter, Devon, fell from the ninth floor to the fifth floor.

The world needs as many of these feel-good stories as we can get, because I believe the news that's about to unfold in the coming days and weeks will be nowhere near as warming.

Anyone who survived this collapse, and hasn't been found yet, is probably no longer alive. It's going to take weeks to remove most of the rubble, and find the remains of the victims. I just hope that more of this building doesn't collapse and injure/kill any of the crew working on this mess.

They have now recovered 9 bodies, with ~150 still unaccounted for.
