Confession in murder of American tourist Natalee Holloway in 2005

The primary suspect in the disappearance and murder of American tourist Natalee Holloway in Auruba in 2005 has confessed as part of plea agreement in a US wire fraud trial. He was also convicted of killing a young woman in Peru.

Sounded pretty much like many had speculated. His sentence for wire fraud will be concurrent to his Peru prison sentence.

RIP Natalee and now finally the family has some closure.

I really hope that was the closure her mother can accept but seems too little too late with the last 20 years of sort of knowing all along he was involved.

van der Sloot should have served his time in a Peruvian prison. He pled guilty just so he could serve out his time for extortion here in the U.S. Now that Daddy’s dead, he has to lie for himself.

Beth Holloway is a hero, albeit tragic, for following through to the end in bringing Van der Sloot to justice.

I believe he murdered her but I don't believe that he waded knee deep in and push her out to the ocean.
I think waves would have thrown her back onto the beach. Happens to whales, dolphins, fish from much deeper all the time.
Only under very specific and perhaps unlikely sea states at the time, would the waves have carried her out from that close to the beach.
I think he is still lying to protect someone. His dad may have arranged or even helped disposal of the body to protect his son.
Or the two other people, friends of van der Sloot, who were there may have been involved with a coverup.

He is a liar and a murderer.
