Prime TV special(s) coming up on this -- his affair with Shaundra Levy, and her murder.

What's your take on it? Was he responsible for her death.

I really don't know. The scandal ruined his career. What a mess. Nothing was ever proven against him as I remember.
 

He had that slick womanizer look, and I didn't like him at all, but I don't think he had anything to do w/it based on findings so far. The upcoming show may change my mind, but if ABC (I think) was able to find anything new, the police would have been all over it.

She was headed back home to CA and very non-threatening to his marriage.....isn't that usually the reason the girlfriends end up dead? If he's later arrested, that wouldn't surprise me either. Either way, he ruined his life and probably his marriage, whether or not she stayed with him. How humiliating for the poor wife, and Shaundra's family.
 
Getting justice for the Levy family may not come. Finding the guilty person that is responsible is going to be an almost impossible task, unless someone comes forward with information.
 
Condit was an up and coming political figure at the time - being fast-track groomed for higher office. Disclosure of the affair would have ruined that and disgraced his party. I believe her murder was arranged by misguided by powerful members of that party. Was Condit complicit? Probably not.

These were my personal thoughts at the time and they have not changed. I'll watch program as I'm always open to change.
 
Saw most of it. It's was informative. Alot the little nuances, politics and rationale behind the investigation, prosecution etc. They wanted revenge, a scapegoat. It's scary because this was a high profile case. Think about the stuff that probably goes on in the lower profile cases ie unsolved murders, wrongfully convicted etc.

Some of the conspiracy theories is that Levy might have been a spy/informant fishing Condit for information who was on the intelligence committee. To take it even further either Condit and/or Levy discovered information on the yet to occur 9/11 attacks and/or the Oklahoma City Bombing. Levy might have been killed to leverage Condit's silence. A rumor that Levy had information from and about the Timothy McVeigh/OKC which didn't match the current version of events from working in the Federal prison system.

The case doesn't seem random or emotional killing. She was on a career path. I don't buy she wanted to marry Condit and have kids at that point in her life.
