Currently I'm using Verizon phone and internet. Fiber optic cable was buried around the neighborhood by Astound and I'm considering switching to it from Verizon instead. My neighbor across the street is getting hooked up. My main reason is that our utilities are buried including Verizon's cable and I have had them come out periodically to correct a scratchiness over the phone. Luckily internet is not affected (yet). Fiber optic is supposed to be crystal clear.
