coping with retirement on very low income

I used to get so upset when people talked about investments and retirement plans, etc. I am an 80 year old woman, living alone, and trying to survive on scarcely $1200 a month. For some time I have been very fearful, envious of those who have plenty of money, and those who inherit, but have determined to work my way through all those fears and envy. I now accept the fact that this is my life and to get control of my thoughts, being thankful for $1200 and being happy for those who inherit and have money to invest. It took a lot of mental work, but now I am OK with it. Thank God and the government for HUD housing which provides security for persons like myself by providing very nice apartments and taking only one third of

Let's keep our fingers crossed.
 
Here are some ways to save money. If you have a car, sell it. If you "must" have a car, I doubt that. If you lack good bus service where you live, move to where the service is better. Rather than use professional movers, see if your friends can get together and move you. I think vegetarians can live cheaper than meat eaters. The last time I ate any meat was back in the 70s. I don't miss it one bit.
