Copying movies unto USB Sticks!

Read somewhere about being able to copy movies unto USB sticks & then play them in motels when there is nothing else. Can you copy movies unto USB sticks? I do this with music but movies? Aren't they copyrighted? Apparently Amazon sells some sort of little box for $50 & you can take your movies along instead of a DVD player & discs? Any help here? Thanks!

Well Packerjohn, you would need a large USB stick as
a movie was sometimes too big for a DVD unless you
could compress it.

You would also need to copy it in the right format to get
it to play on a TV, though that might be standard now, so
get your stick, copy a movie from the net in MP4 and try that,
there are lots of different formats that I know about and not
all will play, even on my PC if it is not set up.

If it plays copy more on to sticks, I would suggest one per stick
as you won't be able to delete or fast forward to the next one.

Then the hotel TVs need to cooperate, I know that they are sometimes
strange over here and in many cases not user friendly.

Maybe a Tablet or Lap-Top would be a better idea, either to play them
on or to download and save them on.

Sorry to be negative.

Mike.

Thank you for the link Packerjohn, I was wondering as
I read in a newspaper and heard on the TV about a
youngish TV Presenter getting ripped off for around
£6,000.00, she is one that I thought saavy, seems that
I was wrong

Mike.
