Corn Dogs.

Didja ever eat a Corn Dog; A battered hot dog on a stick?

They usually sell them at county fairs.

Today I bought a carton of them (frozen) at the grocery store. They're kinda fun to eat between meals

if you get hungry. I dip them in mustard. There are 16 of them in the box. I'm gonna have one (or two)

for dinner tonight. Too lazy to cook anything else. (I know, I know; they're not the healthiest of foods
but, What the heck!)

Yes when I was able to eat hot dogs. Pretty sure I've had them at the shore. Something (probably hormonal) happened to me a few decades ago that caused me to get nauseated if I even smelled a hot dog cooking. And to think, my son and I ate them often when he was a little boy.

I've had them at the NYS fair but never at home.

I saw this idea the other day and I need to give it a try. I'm thinking about using the Hillshire Farm Lit'l Smokies.

I love corn dogs!!! :drool1:

Suggestion: try taking the wooden stick out of it prior to heating and/or eating it.

I heat them up in a toaster oven, put a strip of mustard along the top, or you can dip it if you prefer, then just eat it with your fingers like you would a regular hot dog.

I find that the stick gets in the way of getting a good, solid bite as you're getting around halfway down, plus the wooden stick tastes kind of funny.

Pulling the stick out first just makes it an all around more enjoyable experience.

JMHO.

Love a beef corn dog. I keep a box of them in the freezer and will have one for lunch two or three days a week. I decided that now that I turned 70, I will eat what I want and when I want. When you live by yourself you can do that.

You can buy mini corn dogs that come without the stick. My foster boys love them. I have two boxes in the freezer right now!

I would only eat corndogs that were deep fried, but I recently started putting them in microwave on 20% power setting until they defrost, then spray them with olive oil and toss them in a covered frying pan on medium low, turning regularly until the outside gets crispy... An almost healthy corndog! Whoda thunk it....

Never really appealed to me, though, I've been curious at times, but, then I gag when I think too hard on it. I'm very specific about the type and how I like my dogs and inside cord batter won't do for me. I kind of do envy seeing others eat them though, it does look like a fun treat.
