Coronations - a question

You are about to be crowned king/or queen of your country. What would you like about that position and what would you dislike about it?

I would enjoy having numerous castles and palaces to live in. Very much. :)

I would enjoy the ease of travel for me as queen. Jets everywhere.

I would enjoy going to fashion shows in Paris and Milan and having my own designer whose sole purpose is to make me look great in everything.

I would enjoy having "staff" to rely upon should I need it.

I would NOT enjoy lying to my subjects about their carbon footprint, encouraging them to surrender their cars while I whiz around the world in my private jet. That's blatant hypocrisy.

I would not enjoy hunts. Killing animals like that for sport wouldn't appeal to me and I could not condone the practice even though other nobility/royalty do it.

What would you like/dislike about being king or queen?

That's a pretty silly question for me. I have never dreamed of being a king. As for being a queen, ha, ha, ha, I am not joining any "Trans Community" like those we have here in Canada. I am more of a realistic person and only have plans that I think I can afford to do considering my age and what I feel is right.

For the others, good luck with your dreams. You have my permission to Dream Along with Perry Como or even Walt Disney:

I would enjoy traveling in the greatest comfort, meeting monied people to garner their cash for my charities, eating the best food, wearing clothes created just for me, assistance with whatever I needed. Lovely gardens, room for my dogs and cats.

What I would hate is being bowed and curtsied to, phony friendships, holding on to riches and art stolen from former conquered colonies, living in a castle or palace.

I'd put an immediate end to that as a royal "sport."

I guess people can't be mean to you. Not to your face but the tabloids would get you.

I wouldn't like people around me all the time.

I think it's hard for any of us to imagine what being a celerity on that scale would really be like.
Similar to winning great stacks of money in a lottery perhaps? Most people would love to win a big lottery but in reality, many have lead miserable lives afterward and in fact ended up going broke at some point with their truly valuable relationships destroyed.

Being an invisible peon in the great shite-show of life has it's advantages. Not sure I'd like to give that up no matter how mundane it may be.

Nah, nothin'. I'm not cut out to be a royal. Although if I were one, I'd like to be the Red Queen and go around screaming, "Off with their heads!" 🙃 Only I wouldn't be ugly and fat. 😆

This concept of "royalty" is pretty outdated. Thanks to Lewis Carroll and his "Alice in Wonderland." It's a far cry from our "Charlie" who today became King Charles. I'm glad because I used to worry that Charles would die before the good queen who seemed to be going on and on and on. All those years of waiting and finally, he got it!

It seems to be alive and well, not just in England but in many countries. I'm glad Charles is finally king. He's waited his entire life for this moment, and I wish him well.

I often thought it might happen too.. that the Queen might outlive Charles.. but finally he's got what he's been training all of his life for.. and rightly so.. but I do think if he doesn't die within the next decade and I hope he doesn't.. that he might abdicate when Williams children are grown.. which would be 10 or 15 years from now..

I would like having someone making my bed everyday and a chef preparing breakfast. I wouldn't like the ugly hat.
