Could the following be a portent for a big war coming soon?

I feel very unstable what with N korea ; israel and the arabs ; mad putin and ukraine and china in thte se asian sea and wanting its little bit of rock back as well as still keepin nepal - anyone else wanna bit of old terra firma before it all ends??
 
It just means people can be power hungry nuts any time, even on June 25th for crying out loud. As if Custer and North Korea aren't enough.
 
For me a big war means the USA or Russia or China are involved! All wars are bad, big or small, so I am not minimizing war in my comments. But I am speaking to the above big war as I defined it.

I don't think it will happen. We have had many times in my lifetime when these superpowers were mad enough to go to war. Except for one difference they have not, and I believe they will not.

Since nuclear weapons have been around with all superpowers having the ability to deliver them wherever.

For the first time in history the guys declaring that their country go to war cannot be assured of their own survival. They can push the button, but they cannot hide from the weapon(s) that will certainly follow. If the initial massive explosions do not get them, then the aftermath will....

Funny how leaders, even the cruelest of them have an instinct for self-preservation......and with nukes...you cannot be SURE!
 
You may not have to look beyond our borders to find groups itching to overthrow the government. Before the Jan. fiasco a couple of years back, who would have expected armed mobs to attack our Capitol. We may not be in Russia's shoes yet, but, sadly, we may be moving in the same direction, IMHO.
 
My observations over the 73+ years I have lived. I don't think the American people have the 'gumption' to war against the government. Heck, most won't even show up to vote!

Why would anyone think they would take up arms, if they will not even vote? Crazy, I think to worry about it...
 
America, strong though it is, could eventually die from civil wars or foreign wars. Read history. It is written in the BLOOD of its residents.
 
I'm not going to worry about the prospect of war. It might interfere with my joy of today. After the past three years I expect anything anytime.

I am a long-time student of history!

Since you are also, you already know that the USA has done much, that has never been tried before and or done successfully. And we have done it for over 200 years...

I am betting on the USA continuing to survive as a free country, above all others...
