Okay, my situation is not good but really when my Dad gives me relative updates...we're just ducky...really. My aunt's husband had a series of botched spinal operations and a fall on the stairs. Now he is basically paralyzed. She works part time and they have a big house. Unfortunately it's an area where the housing market is pretty sad. Her son wants them to move to Indiana. They are in PA and have so much crap stored up it would take her forever to pack it up. I told my Dad that she should put all of adult son's Star Wars stuff on EBay, clean the basement and make money.
Other aunt broke her collarbone falling out of bed. She lives alone and her kids are a distance away. The middle sister died a few years back. Complication's from Parkinson's but she was the family first responder. Any problem large or small and a card, a note, a check, or maybe she'd be sitting on your steps with chicken soup all ready to do what needed doing. I'm so sorry she passed on when she did. Her sisters need her now. Yes, there is always someone who has it a whole bunch worse than you. But bless that aunt, she was someone special.
