Country and Western music: A timeless American tradition

Prior to moving to the South as a teenager I wouldn't even think of listening to country music. It was the heydey of the British invasion and the Beetles and such were the rage. Today I'm just the opposite listening largely to country, but I still enjoy some non country sounds too. The Eagles are a favorite along with select tunes from Clapton. I think we all evolve with our taste in music just as the same happens with foods.

I well know what you went through. My parents despised some men playing blues music all day and night down the street from where we lived. I listened to British rock bands. My favorite bands cuts were:

I grew up listening to this stage of C&W in the 50s

Then the Beatles came out which then got me to The Doors, Fleetwood Mac
Then when Disco took over I married a Country Bumpkin and switched back to C&W

Then my interest exploded and I listen to everything. Very wide range of genre now.
