Couple earns big bucks flipping crappy furniture!

This couple gets free or cheap furniture off Facebook Marketplace, spray paints them, and sells them for huge profits!

I'm skeptical.
This like many other things like it are hit and miss.....right place / right time.
if you get the right pieces and can repair or update even with spray paint you may find a buyer.....
i think of all the people who thought they could do the abandoned storage units and ended up with junk not priceless treasures.
so many who got in over their head trying to flip houses.....
works for some but not others

Before the internet, you had to write a book. In the 1950s Peter Hunt made his living painting old furniture and selling it to the summer people in New England. There is still a cult following for his work when it comes up at auction.

Hey, I watch that one and the wife is the one that does the work and she does work, not sure on their income though, if you subscribe you'll see all the steps it takes to transform the furniture, hubby videos and helps move it, anyway I enjoy watching the transformations.

He was putting original artwork on the furniture, which in a sense, became his canvas. I can see where his added value would be worth money. They're probably collectors items now. With cheap painted furniture... not so much.

I think you're right about the couple trying to make money more so through their YouTube channel than through selling the furniture, and I seriously doubt they're selling these veneered furniture pieces for $700-$800 since they probably didn't cost that much when they were new.

There's nothing wrong with having a how-to, DIY channel that provides useful information, and there are plenty of them on YouTube. I watch quite a few of them. Lying about how much they're making is unethical and they could probably be sued for fraud if someone wasted substantial time and money following their advice. You can tell from the comments that it's pure B.S. They're obviously paid comments, which should be against the law.

There are some people around here that do this. They buy solid wood furniture that is considered ugly now and repaint and upgrade the hardware. It’s easier to do now because of quality tools and great new paints. It is solid and better built than lots of the low quality, new stuff.
