Cousin offered me another kitten

His house seems to be a magnet for people dropping off unwanted animals. Last year he had a black, long-haired kitten dropped, but he said it disappeared. Now it's an all-gray cat and it might be male, but could not say for sure. He showed me a photo and it looked just like Stanley who came to visit when I first moved in. I haven't see him in quite some time, now. However, my cousin said the new kitten has diarrhea - not a good sign if it's sick from the getgo.

It is kind of you to take in so many animals. But, cats? Cats breed, like, well cats. I used to stand guard in a truck yard. Most all the cats (and there were many) were feral. But, one was sort of domesticated. She would come and sit on my lap several times through my shift. By the time I left this posting after about 9 months she had raised about three litters as I remember. Cats remind me of that Star Trek episode called the Trouble with Tribbles. Do you remember it? I would never own a female cat for this reason. Dogs, yes. They can be controlled. Cats, no. Somehow they seem to breed just by standing still. Good luck with your growing herd.

I'd like to adopt all the cats in the world, but now I just can't deal with having another pet. I just wish people would get their cats "fixed" and there wouldn't be such an abundance of unwanted kittens.
Unfortunately many pet owners do not know the responsibility of pet ownership. They can't even pick up after their dogs when they do their business on neighbors' lawns when out walking with them. As a rule people just do not think very far 'down the road'.
