Covid in Canada

So am I understanding correctly that the graph is the number of new cases found? If so they sure are doing better than we are, assuming the same access to testing. Poor access to testing would show fewer new cases than higher volumes of testing.
And this brings up a sore point with me that US news sources both written and broadcast have so little news of our close neighbor as compared to news of Europe and Asia. Any thoughts on why Canada might be deliberately under reported?
