I think we do need to better understand the origin of Covid, as with most diseases. However I doubt our Congress is the way to do it. I can envision lots of politics and attempts at grabbing headlines with little real scientific analysis.

If these hearings in general could avoid the political theater of speeches, lectures and badgering they would wind up revealing a lot more. Much of the information comes from lesser known lower profile witnesses because their questioning and testimony is more straight forward.

I think you're right. Investigating the origin won't get us closer to knowing that. Not soon, anyway. But maybe that's the goal.

They do have reason to question the CDC, FDA, and NIH. There are several reports now (new ones) showing that all those entities were informed early on that vaccines did not stop transmission and that they were only necessary for a certain demographic. They also knew that the risk-to-benefit analysis changed before they imposed vaccine mandates that caused people to lose their jobs. But they listened to politicians instead of "frontline" scientists and researchers.

That too. All these organizations will intersect as will the issues.

But if did escape from a lab doing gain of function research it might explain why numerous vaxxes didn't last or work because if it was an engineered virus for a bio weapon they would purposely try to make hard to combat ie mutate fast and frequently.

Virology scientists and researchers were the first to announce that the SARS-CoV 2 virus did show characteristics of engineering, but the announcement was suppressed by the director-general of the WHO, who also should be investigated....again, except seriously this time.
