Cuckoo Clock

My parents bought this in the early 1970s. I have a vague memory of it hanging in the living room at the old house. When we moved, of course they brought it along and it's been hanging out on the sun porch since 1975, but not running. I got curious about it and took it down. It was make by the Cuckoo Clock Co. Inc. which I learned is a German business. It has a hunting motif with a stag's head, rabbit, quail and guns (no accounting for taste!). I tried to start it, but the pendulum just swings back and forth a few times then stops. It looks clean inside. I don't know what wrong with it or how to fix it. I am worried I could really damaging it by fumbling with it. It would probably cost more to get it repaired than I could sell it for afterwards if I could even find someone around here that repairs cuckoos. I am not that sentimental about it and would like to sell it. I put it on FB and Craig's List "as is", but no bites yet. I was hoping someone that knew how to repair them would take it.

The clock is exactly how I remember Cuckoo Clocks when I was a young child.

The hours I spent waiting for the bird to pop out the door! Such warm memories.
 
I have one very similar to that which cost nearly £300. Be careful not to give it away to someone who will sell it on and make a big profit.
 

I sent a photo of it to a clock repair place that's only about 15 miles away. They said I could make an appointment for them to look at it as they aren't open for business at the moment. I also asked them if they buy clocks, but the answer was "no" since they aren't selling any. The market for used clocks has "dried up".
