Are products literally dumped at the point where your driveway meets a public road? I mean, thieves are even ripping-off mdse. that's delivered to your front door.

Are you talking products/items delivered by UPS/Fed Ex?

UPS/Fed Ex/Amazon always leave items on the porch.

A Walmart chat person told me it will be delivered to the front door but an email causes doubts. I never got this kind of email before. “ We'll be sure to send an email when your items have been delivered, so you can bring them inside for safe keeping.” That language makes me nervous. My “curb” is 700’ ft down a steep driveway.

She said that when I receive the shipping email, I may want to call a certain phone no. so that Walmart can advise the carrier to deliver to the front porch. That advice tells me that she’s not certain whether front door delivery policy is followed by all of their carriers.

Have you had any Walmart deliveries dumped at the curb rather than closer to the house?

They drop mine next to my front porch. When expecting a package I hang a large sign on my security gate, right next to the doorbell: "Please ring doorbell when making deliveries." And they do!

Nope. our mailbox is about 500 ft. from the house. Anytime we have a package that won't fit into the mailbox, the delivery people...USPS, UPS, FedEX,...always drive up to the house, and place it on the front porch, and ring the doorbell. It doesn't matter who we order from....Walmart, etc...it's up to the delivery people as to Where they leave it.

My concern is that Walmart will use someone other than one of the Big Three you mention, or else the chat person would have identified the specific one instead of just saying "the carrier." Maybe WalMart uses whomever Mom & Pop outfit they can get at this holiday time of year and the chat person doesn't know specifics. I'm gonna get into chat again later today and try to pin the person down.

Maybe Walmart uses a company similar to Dillon's Instacart. They're volunteers that do your shopping and then bring the stuff to the house. I do find the fact that you have to contact them to let them know they need to bring it to the door somewhat disturbing.

If you have purchased something online from Wal-Mart, for most things you have the option to have it delivered to your local store and then you can go get it from the grocery pickup area. No need to go into the store.

Same is true for grocery items you order from them; opt to pick it up at the store at their no-contact pickup area. That is what I do because I don't want to have to worry about porch pirates or my groceries sitting out in the weather PIcking up your groceries is easy as pie.
