Have you noticed how drivers, are all for themselves now on the roads.....😡
No one gives way.......!!

For example , I drove 10 miles today, and not one driver , gave way to me trying to turn into roads, which then made traffic Jams...........!!.

Are they in such a hurry to get anywhere......?

I always make a point in letting drivers out.......I also give way to bus drivers and taxis......as I know they always have time schedules to keep too.........

Such an angry load of drivers now ......No fun in driving anymore.........

I’m quite happy on leaving home, but as soon as I get home, I am so mad...!!.....🥺😫

End of Rant .....

I notice it when I’m out walking.

When I’m crossing the street I can hear some drivers accelerate.

Some head for the puddles on the edge of the road or intentionally come as close as possible.

IMO it’s happening for two reasons. The first is a spillover from the anonymous bad behavior of the internet and social media. The second is that we live in a world where people are not taught how to drive or behave in the same way people were years ago. Give everyone a trophy, a cookie and a drivers license. 😊

Do I sound old? 🤔😉😆

😂😂 No you don’t sound old Bea......you sound like me ! 😂

Haven't experienced it to a great degree but then I don't travel among the daily commuters anymore. May vary depending on where or when you're driving. I see the individual arrogant drivers, but always have. My daily experience still includes folks, including myself, motioning others into line and it's usually acknowledged with a nod or wave.

I must say that during my occasional "commuter hour" drive through Boston (MA) the courtesy slips away and it's more an unpleasant "every man for himself" situation.

Yes, I've noticed. Some of them rush to pass and wind up at the same red light as everyone else. My son and I were just talking about that the other day when he took me somewhere. It makes no sense. I haven't driven in 16 years but I started noticing how rude drivers were even back then. And of course, now we have worse than rude with escalating events of road rage, some deadly unfortunately. It's really a shame. I hope you have a much better tomorrow Charry.

Don't know why all the rage on the roads either... I see it here (Houston) all the time! .. I'm north of the city, and drive on side roads every chance I can, but still see the craziness all around every time I venture out.
And it's against the law, but too many drivers still have their noses in their cell phones while they are speeding along.

Any more, I try to avoid going anywhere during "rush hour". I had to fight that BS when I was working, but now, in retirement, we schedule our driving time so as to avoid the 8AM and 5PM times. Here, in the more rural areas, it's not too bad, but I'd rather have a tooth pulled than to get stuck in the evening traffic in Kansas City.

When someone finally lets me into a line of traffic from a parking lot, I like to blow kisses to them.
I like to blow kisses at them too but a lot of times they don't looked pleased by my display of gratitude for their kindness. 😘

It's not totally unexpected. A gesture, a woman blowing a kiss, is seen differently than a kiss blown by a man. Life's just like that.

yep, and getting worse. drivers today have no clue how to merge, what yield means, parallel parking, and who has the right of way at an intersection. :(
In other words, people don't know what road rules are anymore and no one cares.

Years ago, people in this state had to go into the driver's license renewal place to take their written and practical driver's test to renew their driver's license every four years. Since they changed it to renewing it online, I have noticed a marked change in bad behavior with drivers. I would pay more taxes to change back to the old system. . . . . . . . .

The more people there are, the more aggression there is, on the roads and most other places as well because of crowded conditions. Population is increasing but it takes a while for the roadways to catch up. But the population still increases even as new roads are being built. I wish that kindness between people increased at the same amount as aggression seems to but so far, nope. Aggression wins in the end, it seems. Survival of the fittest, dog eat dog. Mostly just an observation but partly fact.

I am so happy to be retired and not have to go back and forth to work on the interstate during rush hour. It got even worse during road construction or accidents with long delays. I had a few alternate routs to pick from if I could get off the highway.
Sometimes I don't think that all accidents are accidental. I think that sometimes people have accidents on purpose just to make my day miserable! Well, have I got news for them, ain't nobody gonna steal my joy no more! Traffic Jam? Time to jam! Pump up the volume on my tunes! But retirement got me off the roads more too.

There have always been idiots driving, but I noticed a big increase when Covid started. Now, it's common. Every time I drive, I see close ones, lots of horns honking & people turning in front of others & exiting driveways cutting it way too close. Besides drivers, pedestrians are paying the price, too - with their lives; frequent hit & runs.
I went 52 years without an accident, then last year, I had two. And the second one was deliberate; I was waiting for pedestrians to cross in front of me & the jerk behind me started honking, then he bumped me & sped away, making the father & his two kids jump out of the way. I gave his license number to the police & made a report with all my info. They're doing NOTHING; it's been a year & I haven't heard from them.

It’s almost any hour on any roadway in America. Although I‘m driving 10 mph above posted limits to keep up with “slow” traffic, that’s not fast enough for the individual behind me, who’s following so closely that he could not possibly stop if I had to. Today I am lucky; he roars around me in a no passing zone, and is soon invisible as he’s driving at least 20 mph above posted limits. Perhaps I will get sprayed with gravel, or receive an obscene gesture. Several years ago I was not so fortunate, and was rear ended when I dared to slow for a signaled turn.

I can remember when driver courtesy was taught in driver education classes and practiced on the roads, but that was long ago. Many people today don’t regard speed limits to apply to themselves personally, and want road laws enforced, but on other people... 😾

Yesterday, I had every slow driver and learner driver get
ahead of me when I was taking my brother to the hospital.

My brother was in a hurry, but luckily, I was driving!

I have noticed lately a lot of impatient drivers beeping the
horn, not something that you hear much here, I think that
we will soon be like Istanbul, I never heard horn use like
they do anywhere else, they have 2 different horns, an air
horn that plays a tune, for the country and a beep-beep for
the city.

Mike.

That definitely does not sound like a pleasant change of pace for your day ! @charry
which you so deserve when you go out for a ride for something.

I hope next time will go better, or that some of these posts will have lifted your spirits. :)
Thankyou Kaila xx
