Damning with faint praise

I think these kinds of "psy-ops" games are utterly disgusting

and with the rise of the internet and anonymous identities..

It is just turning people with a normal sense of civility and conscience, into demonic little sociopaths.

every thought, every action we engage, is like training the brain.

And if we train our brain into ever increasing manipulative strategies?

We are literally training our brain into sociopathic behavior.

We are literally hypnotizing ourselves into mental illness.

And then, like any cult...simply because it is popular...people just think it is ok.

It is ok to be rude to others.

It is ok to hack the computer of someone and force them to buy another, that they can't afford.

It is ok to harass a disabled combat vet, until, in frustration, he starts to beat his wife

It is ok to harass a vulnerable teen into committing suicide

It is ok to take sales techniques and compel a widow, in poverty to lose her life savings.

It is ok to mock someone, thinking they do not understand that they are being mocked (but, you know, they actually do understand)

No, none of this stuff is ok...not by a long shot.

It's one of many negative and destructive traits of human nature. Was, is now and will always exist. Shame. Thanks for posting.

It is ok to pretend you are someone's friend an ally, so that you can more easily shock and disturb them, when the moment's "right? and you decide the time is ripe to harass and annoy them or send them some implied death threat to terrorize them...or whatever is on the sociopathic menu at the time.

No, not ok.

No...and that is the point.

No, people have successfully fought off those negative tendencies...and all negative tendencies all throughout history.

That is just surrendering to the worst in people, as if that is all there is and can be.

Endless examples of people, throughout history, fighting off temptations, in order to be good and noble.

One time, here in NJ, I did an intervention for a suicidal heroin addict.

Turns out, he grew up with a lot of Mafia people. When the Mafia people found out that I saved their friend from committing suicide...they made it known to me that they would "get me work."

You know, in their field...criminal stuff.

I refused.

I was living in poverty and had a tough life. But I refused. My Dad refused in his time...because we have family in organized crime.

He refused.

It's possible. I've done it, my Dad did it.. I know tons of people who have done it.

And, by the way, when I refused to do criminal work for those guys? And this is very weird to me, to this day....when I refused to take money from them? That...they really respected. The Mafia guys respected people who worked hard and kept it all straight.

So, if even the Mafia guys know that people can be strong against temptation...how is it that these ideas get spread and people think it is impossible no to do these things??

Because, it isnt...

Maybe it is the internet and all the coding and hacking and stuff. Creating a culture where people have lost touch with some very very very basic stuff that the previous generations all knew about...
