Dancing with the Stars - new season

I usually watch this show. Their new season starts September 16th, but Tom Bergeron will announce GMA next Wednesday August 21.

There is a rumor that Abby Lee Miller (Dance Moms) will compete. WHAT?! UGH! :mad: Hope that's just a rumor.
She served a little less than a year in federal prison for bankruptcy fraud, lost quite a bit of weight, had some health issues.......but I really don't want to see her.

This next name is not a rumor, just total speculation on my part: Michael Strahan
He's on GMA and has a talk show "Strahan & Sara" with Sara Haines.
Before Sara went on maternity leave actress Keke Palmer was brought on as temporary fill-in. Sara had her baby in late June and came back 4 weeks later. But Keke is still there.....I was thinking they could easily just pay her for whatever time that was agreed and move on.

Former athletes do very well on the show. Michael is in great shape. I remember when Ginger Zee was on DWTS Robin Roberts was teasing Michael asking when he was gonna go on DWTS. There was also a segment quite awhile back when they had the Rockettes on GMA....Michael was kickin' high and George Stephanopoulos accused him of showing off.šŸ˜€

Michael hosts $100,000 Pyramid but that's a summer replacement game show and will end soon.

Now, I might be totally wrong/off-base....but we'll see. :unsure:

One thing is for certain: Michael and/or anyone else will get a lot more votes than Abby Lee Miller.

I don't know who Miller is, never watch that show. I do really like Michael Strahan, and would love to see him on DWTS.
 

Another rumor: Hannah, the recent bachelorette who gave the ring back to the guy upon finding out he had a girlfriend.
Bachelor/Bachelorette shows......go away. šŸ™„
 
Watch it sometimes when I like the stars. Don't care for Abby and theres enough of Strahan already on tv. Should call it something else as the stars are really not stars. I was turned off of Strahan when all of the drama happened with Kelly Ripa. I never cared for her or her show but really developed a dislike for Strahan when he accepted other shows and did not have the decency to tell her he was leaving her show himself. I agree with applecruncher that the bachelor bunch could all go away!
 
I just don't seem to have the interest in Dancing with the Stars anymore. I'll probably look in to see who's on, but that's about it.
Many of the "stars" they get are really unknown to me.
 
I've seen a coupe recent reports which say Keke was recently made a full-time host Of Strahan & Sara. Hmmm. :unsure: The show doesn't need 3 hosts, imo. Anyway, so Keke still being there doesn't mean Michael will be on DWTS.

Hannah Brown (zzzzzz former Bachelorette)

and other people ........no Michael, and no Abby

Christie does look great. Hard to believe Spicer is on there. Not many stars except for Wells and Brinkley. Of course my definition of stars is different than most folks anyway. Will watch a couple of times to see how it goes.
 
What the heck is Sean Spicer doing on DWTS? šŸ˜• He won't last ....no fanbase and I can't imagine him being a phenomenal dancer.

Christie will do well. She's been on Broadway. My only beef about her is the way she aired her dirty laundry when she divorced her ex who cheated on her. I understand she was hurt, but sheesh.

Tom Bergeron said some of the pros won't know who their partners are until the first night of the show. But how will the stars be prepared to dance? I'm a bit confused.

That celebrity list is a real head scratcher.... political people don't belong on the show IMO... also a man who was accused of murder sometime back.
And shouldn't Hannah Brown's 15 minutes of fame be up by now?
 
I saw a report last night that Tom Bergeron was against having Sean Spicer as a cast member.

Ray Lewis was charged with stabbing two guys to death, charges were dropped and he plead guilty to obstruction of justice.

Lamar Odom almost died in a Nevada brothel while overdosing on cocaine and a ******-like substance.

I used to love DWTS but seems it's outlived it's shelf life.

I remember Lamar's story, but hadn't heard anything about him in a long time. I guess he's made it back from that tragic time.

I will look in at the show at the beginning, just out of curiosity, but really don't care how it all plays out. :cautious::giggle:
 
Christie Brinkley will not be performing due to an injury - broken arm which required surgery to her wrist and arm.
Her daughter Sailor will take her place.
 
As a dancer myself, I watched the show religiously when it first aired and for several seasons after. It always irritated me that the show was really more of a popularity contest them an actial competitive dance show. Whole the judges for the most part tended to score on ability, technique, musicality, all the things that are involved in dancing, the audience just voted for who they liked the most. And that always annoyed me. There were plenty of folks I saw that I didnā€™t like at all personally, but they had excellent technique and such and yet they were voted off early because they weā€™re jist not liked.

Once they started introducing other forms of dance that were not at all related to ballroom dance, that was it for me. That and the ā€œPopularity contestā€ nature of the show and I lost all interest šŸ˜’
