Seeing I live in Sydney, Australia - we don't wind our clocks back 1 hour until April 2nd. Also called Fall Back and Winter time.I checked all the smoke alarms this afternoon...found 1 that isn't working...will buy a new one this week. We reset all the clocks after Supper. The time of day isn't of any real concern...being retired....we'll get up in the morning when we wake up.
Same for me... I enjoy the earlier sunsets of fall. What I don't like is the fact that now there's that "traded" hour of darkness in the morning... that stinks. The people making these decisions are so into "saving an hour of daylight" that it doesn't occur we have to trade it for darker mornings for a while.I prefer standard time. I do not need those extra hours of the hot sun blazing, the added expense of cooling the house until the sun goes down.
The Mnemonics for the planets we were taught was..Mom always told me 'Spring forward, Fall back' as a way to remember the clock change. Another cool one was the way to remember the order of the Planets...

Exactly! I can see *maybe* how it was helpful in 1918 when it began... with WWI going on.... but someone since then should have realized they're putting that blanket bottom to the top. SMHThinking that this gives us more daylight is like thinking that cutting a foot off the bottom of a blanket and sewing it to the top gives us a longer blanket.
Yes, apologies for that.Myrtle, did you mean GAlady?
