Dealing with friends and memory challenges (Part 3)

Awhile ago I shared the fact that a lunch friend took things very hard when I chose to eat at a different table. My heart melted. She is a wonderful woman, and is 100 years old. She wasn't the one who made me want to switch tables. Other women had the severe memory problems. When I realized how I'd hurt my friend, I started sitting with her again.

Since then, the woman with the most severe memory problems has moved to another facility where she can get better care for her difficulties. It's all part of living in a senior citizen community.

Another one of my lady friends has been away for awhile. It appears she has an illness that may require her to get more intense care. We live in an Assisted living facility, or independent living. Again, it's all part of living for us. Still sometimes we can't help miss someone, or tire of struggling with various issues.

Hi @ronk, I'm glad you're back sitting with your 100 yr old friend again for lunch.

How have you been lately? What's new?

I understand what you are talking about. Living with other seniors puts you in the position of getting close to some and losing them in the near future. It happens with younger people too but more often in senior's lives.

I'm feeling really badly. I have some sort of sinus problem. My whole head and neck ache. I can't seem to decide if I'm cold or hot. My arms swell up sometimes, then they're more normal. I can tell because sometimes my watch and bracelet fit very loosely, while other times they're tight.

I signed up for "Home Health." I get a doctor and nurses who come to my apartment. I got a better insurance provider in case I get my knee surgery done. I'd be able to stay at the "Care Center" next door if I need extra care after surgery.

Unfortunately, I can't get any medical people to do much about my symptoms right now. I do hope to finally get a new CPAP machine. I recently realized I'd had this machine for 23 years!

It's good to hear from you all!
