Tropical Storm Debby blows $1 million in cocaine onto Florida beach
"Storm surge from Tropical Storm Debby has flooded Florida's coastal streets, rivers and low-lying areas. It also produced a cocaine bonanza.

"Hurricane Debby blew 25 packages of cocaine (70 lbs.) onto a beach in the Florida Keys," Samuel Briggs II, acting chief patrol agent of the U.S. Border Patrol in Miami posted Monday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

A Good Samaritan discovered the drugs, which Briggs said had a street value of over $1 million, and notified authorities. The location of the beach was not specified."

Those numbers can’t be street numbers. 70 pounds of Cocaine = 31,751 grams @ $120 per gram (2020 price) = $3.8million on the street.
If the dealer bought the load for $1mil, they made a lot of money. Street prices have been varying between $60-200 in the U.S.

What else can people do to ruin the planet.
Well, out here in California and other western states it’s Fentanyl, largely brought to us by the Mexican cartels, and their ā€œillegal immigrantā€ customers.

ā€œIn 2022, fentanyl was responsible for 200 deaths every day. Over a quarter of a million Americans have died from a fentanyl overdose since 2018.ā€
Are fentanyl overdose deaths rising in the US?

If that 2022 death rate is alarming, how about 112,000 in 2023?
In 2023 fentanyl overdoses ravaged the US and fueled a new culture war fight

Without checking numbers, I would imagine a lot of the powder gets turned into rock. The NDIC tries to track it the best they can. They estimate that about 6.2 million people have at least smoked crack once. These are ages 12 and up.

Crack is very addictive and gives a quick high. It’s also inexpensive compared to some other drugs.
