I guess it may have been in the early 2000’s that I attended a State Trooper’s Coalition Seminar in Denver. I met up with a Trooper from the Denver area that told me the following story: (I’ll try to keep it short.)
A Colorado Trooper had been accused and arrested of child molestation. He was out on bail at the time. It was either the day before or a few days before the trial was to begin, that the Trooper drove up into the Rockies to a point where he patrolled. He parked his car at the bottom of a long stretch of the highway that was straight and the 18-wheelers could get their speed up to 80+ mph.
As the semi approached the Trooper, who was standing by his car, he walked out into the path of the oncoming truck. Most of us have seen the remnants of a deer that was hit by a semi, so you can imagine how much was left of the Trooper. The truck was stated to be going 78-82 mph.
The Trooper that I was speaking with told me that they had to have a bio-hazard team in their white suits go to the area and pick up the pieces of what was left of the Trooper. He told me that there was just a small blood spot, unlike when a deer gets hit. I would think that he must have seen no other way out and was desperate to get past his issue.
I guess by his actions, he was telling everyone that he was guilty. I can tell you without reservation that it would not have been a good thing for him to go to prison. It’s bad enough for pedophiles to do prison time, then add to that the fact he was a State Trooper, who may have put some of the prisoners in their cells.
