Denver Stadium Fire. Plastic Seats Burned Rather Easily

WhatInThe

Denver's Mile High Stadium caught fire this week in upper level seating. They said this is the second time stadium seating caught fire when in 2002 during the old stadium demolition those seats caught fire. I was kind of surprised how fast and fierce those plastics burned. I shudder to think what would happen in an occupied stadium.

burning plastic can create dioxin gas. One of the most poisonous substances known to man. Good to know, in terms of giving a very very very wide berth to some plastic fire...and also good to know, to not throw plastic into a campfire, just to have fun watching it burn.

This is what heard years ago. Most firemen will say this. They hate fires with a lot of plastic toys, lawn furniture or children's furniture. Hate to think what that smoke plume which was seen over the entire city created.

yes, I think that they are not allowed to go into a fire if the amount of plastic / amount of dioxin produced is too high. I seemed to recall a plastics factory going up about 25 years ago...and they were not allowed to go in.

What a job.

Those guys are complete heroes.
