Did you ever do something sneaky as a child that you didn't want you parents to find out?

My sneaky experience was when I was around five years old, and I decided I wanted to cut my bangs. I did it in the bathroom and put the cut-off hair into the trash basket and and then emptied the basket into the outside trash can.

My secret didn't last for long, though, after my mom saw me with my haircut. She wondered how I ever got rid of the hair. She either never asked me, or I just stayed mum. Lol

So, what kind of sneaky things did any of you do when you were a kid?

Me and my friend across the street once too a couple of cigarettes from our mom's stash and smoked them. I think we only did it once though. But I do remember us going to the back alley to smoke them. I think I was around 9 or 10.

I signed my report card a couple of times due to the fact it had so many red marks it looked like a lit up Christmas tree. I must have been pretty good because I got away with it. I don't remember my Mom asking why I didn't bring home my report card. My Dad left his cigarettes on the back porch and I took one but was to scared to light it so I buried it.

I think every adult has done something sneaky as a child that they didn't want parents to find out.

A few:

Stole cigarettes and smoked them

Planted sunflower seeds in front yard (eventually they found out!)

Told classmates I took dancing lessons (a lie). put together a stupid outfit (scarves, ribbons, etc) and was terribly humiliated. (I was about 7 yrs old)

My mother once enrolled me in a group called Canadian Girls In Training. There was nothing I enjoyed about it so I would skip out and instead go to the park. Eventually of course my mother was called about my poor attendance and it was decided I was not CGIT material.

I Was going to ask the same question ! I was wondering about the "mischief" people got into as a kid. I don't remember doing anything sneaky when I was a young kid. Now as a young teen - that when the mischief started ! LOL

My mother wouldn't let me have pierced ears, so I pierced them myself with "sleepers". Remember those? Of course I was found out but by then I had pierced ears. LoL.

I did many sneaky things as a kid. Me and my brother would find out Christmas gifts and open them up and retape them after! I stole a cigarette of my mom's and smoked it and it made me feel awful..I guess that's what I got for doing that! I would sneak out of my bedroom window at night and go and party..could write a chapter about that! :) LOL

My friend pierced mine with a sewing needle. I told my mom that a nurse friend of her mom did it.
Years later as an adult I was telling my siblings how I got my ears pierced. All of a sudden my mom cried out "you told me a nurse did it!". Luckily she didn't spank me.

Yes I snuck out too. I remember some Boone's Farm Apple Wine being involved.

Yes I did! I carved my big sister’s initials in the living room woodwork. She got a spanking and grounded for it. I never ‘fessed up until my parents were dead. My sister was royally honked off! In my defense, if you knew my sister back then, you would said she had it coming. We’re best buds now. 👍🏻

When I was a very young child I tried to sneak a spoonful of PDQ Chocolate Crystals, kind of like Quick that you mix with milk. When my mother was in the other room, I hurried into the kitchen cabinet, opened the jar, and took a spoonful....put it in my mouth very quickly. Turned out to be instant coffee, quite a shocker as I ran to the sink to spit it out and rinse my mouth out, almost gagging. Luckily my mother didn't find out. When I was a teen, there was a lot of things I didn't want my parents to find out, places I was going, who I was with, what I was doing, etc.

I have to admit to once stealing a nickel and two pennies off the coffee table and going to the store to buy candy. You bought a lot of candy for 7 cents back in those days. My mother caught me eating the candy and asked where I got the money and of course I made things worse by lying and saying that I found pop bottles.

Mom marched me down to the store, asked the owner about it and he told her I had paid in cash. I will never forget my pants being pulled down and a good spanking in front of other customers.

Never, and I mean never did I steal again. A well learned lesson.

Most of my sneaking around had to do with what I was doing with the opposite sex, starting at five years old. My Mom heard of one of my earliest indiscretions, when I was very young, but she simply told me it "isn't a nice thing to do." I felt otherwise, and so I never stopped.

The definition of kids is "mischief". I did a number of things my folks did not know about but I am sure they did know about some of them but let me think I was smarter than them. I did more things behind their backs when I was a seen than when I was a kid.

I just remembered another one after reading Mizzkitts post.My mom would give me a dime for the Sunday school collection plate back in the early 50's. My girlfriend and I just pretended to put it in the plate and after Sunday school we would go to the store on the way home and buy candy. My Mom never found out because we ate the candy before we got home.

Wanted to add to this - aside from my dance "costume" my dance routine was pathetic. :(

I remember the music teacher interrupted my act and took me into the girl's restroom to get dressed. (In addition to scarves and ribbons, I'd pasted toilet paper around my feet....since I didn't have real ballet slippers). A hot mess. I told her that my other costume was at the cleaners. ....lame.

My older brother found out about it and I was teased on into adulthood.

I had lit some newspaper on fire and when I thought the fire was out I went in the house. Some time later the next door neighbors outdoor central AC unit was on fire and burned up. It was obvious how the fire started but I never said a word. Apparently, a wind carried the still lit paper piece to next door and the rest is history or should I say unknown history.
