Did You Ever Need a New Remote For Firestik?

My remote for my firstik was giving me some problems and now it won't start my fire tv. I replaced the batteries just now and it still won't work. I just searched the prices on Amazon for a replacement and the lowest is 17.99!

If your fire stick won’t turn on, you need to Disconnect the power cord on the back of the device or from a power outlet, then plug it back in. You can also use your remote to restart your device. Hold the Select and Play / Pause buttons at the same time for five seconds. Or, select Restart from Settings> Device> Fire TV menu. Yes it happened to me...I tried everything in the book!!
After reading the reviews,for a replacement,I just decided to buy an entire new FireStick!!.
 
In a pinch if you have an android phone you can install a 'firestick' remote app. I'm not sure if you have one on an iPhone since I don't have and never used Apple Play. I used the 'NetFlix' app for a while but since I hate phones & Google's intrusion into my private life I soon got rid of it.

I bought a 'ROKU' TV for the spare bedroom, you don't need any extra HDMI dongles only the included TV remote. Kind of an expensive way around the problem.
 
When remotes go on the fritz, it's usually because a key might be stuck down. Usually on the key used the most. Hold it upside down and give it a tap with a ruler. Sometimes holding it upside down and pressing the buttons works.
