I don't think so. My parents didn't take a lot of pictures as compared to people today. Of course cell phones make it easy today.

I sat on Santa's lap once, cried, didn't go well. No pictures taken by my mother at the time.

I have never understood torturing kids with costume characters. It's not cute it's just plain mean IMHO. My niece had a big birthday party for a one year old. The highlight was a Minnie Mouse in costume. My grand-boy clutched grandma's necklace with both hands..."Nooo don't let it get near meeee!!!" The other babies and toddlers were doing the same thing.
