Did you know raw carrots should never be microwaved?

Microwave Popcorn shows it all. When the popping starts to slow down your about finished.
Keeping it in a buttered paper bag is the trick. Don't set the bag a fire. ..........:ROFLMAO:

I have microwaved carrots many times with no problem. You just slice them up in a bowl, add just a touch of water for steam, cover it with a plate or lid, and microwave for about 3 minutes. Turns out great every time. After they're done, just add a little butter and cinnamon if you like and enjoy.

I microwave fresh meat often.. mainly sausage... not to cook, but to thaw frozen one a little to reduce the cooking time...

I microwave water all the time.. just stir it well with a plastic or wooden spoon first before microwaving and don't micro for longer than 90 seconds.. ...simialr with sauces.. just put them in a dish, cover them in cling film, and only heat for a few seconds at a time, then sit for 1 minute before taking the cover off.. and it won't explode..

This is a shocker! You don't want to put carrots in the microwave. "Arcing is sparks produced inside the microwave from the microwave's reaction with metallic materials. Carrots may contain minerals from the soil that can cause this spark," she says.

I admit, I'm not an expert, but given that produce is to be washed before being eaten, what's the likelihood there'd be enough of any mineral left to cause arcing? And not only that, literally every food has minerals in it, from soil and just from being organic, how come they're not at risk for turning your microwave into an uncontrollable fusion bomb?

Exactly. It’s how you cook them.
