Did you vote today?

Mail in ballot.
My grandfather always had a little something going on the side.. He used to vote on election day, then he voted, and voted, He got paid by the vote. I remember when he took a bunch of his grandkids to the cemetery to get the names of those, who died that year. Then he voted. But that was 65+ years ago.
Today, I just don't see vast armies of people trying to vote fraudulently.

In this area it was popular to buy votes with a glass of whiskey from the local saloon.

Eventually the laws were changed to close the saloons and the banks on Election Day in an effort to prevent buying votes in local elections. The measure was largely symbolic.

I meant to respond to this much sooner. They got new voting machines in my district, maybe across the city...I don't know. The system is a little different. I had trouble trying to select two of the candidates and almost didn't cast my vote at all. When I stepped out of the booth to tell them I was having issues and ask why my ballot was still showing inside a window of the machine, one of the gentleman told me I had to push yet another button. So I was able to cast my vote. Another man assigned to that polling place said I wasn't the only one having trouble with selecting the candidates.
