Men's world number one Novak Djokovic has hit back at criticism of his letter to Australian Open chief Craig Tiley in which he suggested easing of quarantine restrictions, saying his good intentions were "misconstrued".

Djokovic reportedly asked for reduced isolation periods and having players in hard quarantine moved to "private houses with tennis courts", drawing a backlash from Australians………

Novak has been outspoken about the restrictions throughout this pandemic, but he represents the players union being world #1. It isn't fair that certain players who are not top ten will be in super strict quarantine while others will be isolated with no practice time at all, yet some of the privileged players get at least 5 hours of practice time a day. This will give a hugely unfair advantage to certain players . I'm a huge tennis fan and understand his concerns for all the players. I think this split and who decides why and who gets to practice and who doesn't is what concerns him. His remarks were misconstrued indeed.

If some players are getting 5 hours practice time a day and others are not, I agree that's totally unfair.
