DNA kits

We ordered the kits from Ancestry last night.. Should have them in 7 to 10 days

Scots-Irish were protestant Scots who moved to Ulster in northern Ireland.
 
I've been told, over the years from different relatives, that I am mostly French, some English, a touch of Native American, a spritz of Welch and god knows what else. My grandfather, on my dad's side, was French Canadian. He married my grandmother, who was from Newport, NY, and settled in Newport.
 

My ex in-laws were always bragging about being descended from original settlers in US. Now lately they have been talking about being descended from Acadians which were around during the beginning of the fur trading days. Doesn't mean very much to me.
 
I think if it is important to you to know your descendants, then go for it. Personally, I know who I am and who my parents were. Other than that, it really does not matter to me, it's not going to change anything. But on the other hand, if there was an illness that could be predetermined, that is another whole issue.
 
We came from the low lands of Wales...really doesn't make a bit of difference in who we are now.
