Do Aliens Exist on or around Earth ?

The late Carl Sagan said on the alien visitors, "I'll believe it when I see it." Good enough for me.
 

Again why does it matter? Mulder and Scully have been all around that block. Live your life with joy of just being able to appreciate things like pardoxes etc.... We are not privy to the secrets of the universe.

Millions of "aliens" have illegally crossed the Southern US border...
but it is no longer PC to call them "aliens."

First of all, are you new here? I haven't seen you before. If so, Welcome to the forums.

To answer your question: I don't think it matters so much as it intrigues. Mulder and Scully rode in on their meteor and explored some producers version of alien life forms. Of course, when the money ran out Scully and Mulder's meteor disintegrated. I don't really like the entertainment industry telling me what to believe or how to believe. Even though the X-files is now a has been, strange things continue to happen all over the world and I am intrigued. I love having discussions about different theories. Someone here pointed out the Nasca lines. I agree, something aerial had to direct the creation of those lines.

If I only live life appreciating that which is around me, if others didn't want to discover the secrets of the universe then radio waves would have never been discovered, there would be no television sets on which to watch the X-files. I am curious by nature and I suppose I would rather seek out the why's and how's of things. I don't want to be one of those old people who sits around moaning and groaning about my aches and pains and science fiction (or science truth) kind of keeps me from doing that.

Science fiction writer Ray Bradbury is said to have attended a party where he stated he would live to see man land on the moon. The guests mocked him so he took their names and phone numbers while telling them when it happened he was going to call them. It happened and he did.

I once read that what a human can imagine will eventually become a reality. Until then I do live with my life with joy, and with imagination, and with just a dab of craziness.

So, as the entertainment industry would say "may the force be with you", "live long and prosper" "go where no man has gone before" or as Noah said after building the ark "I think we need a bigger boat.", oh wait, that was Roy Scheider in Jaws.

I'm prejudiced by all those ancient astronaut/alien shows. Ever since Von Daniken's Chariots of The Gods decades ago I would find it hard to rule out alien existence or that humans and other organisms have a genetic history based on their activity on earth thousands or millions of years ago.

Many years ago when Comet Holmes was in the news, it mysteriously flared extremely brilliant while in Perseus' arm area of the constellation Perseus [actually it was in the Asteroid Belt.] My brother is a NASA scientist and comet expert, so I emailed him to ask his opinion about Comet Holmes' unexpected mysterious flare. He emailed me back saying he knew nothing [not the first time he pretended to know nothing in response to my many questions.]

Here's the interesting part... weeks later he responded to my email again [using my same email title, Re: Comet Holmes] but this time he cc several other NASA people. His email text was short. All it said was to pay attention to the second part of the linked article. The linked article was a SETI article entitled, "Aliens Apart", that basically said the universe is so huge, even if there were other planets with intelligent life, we might never know they exist... least of all be able to communicate and interact with them. The article said NOTHING about Comet Holmes. But beginning in the second half of the article [that my brother had said to pay attention to]... was a humorous reference to aliens playing havoc in Perseus' arm !!

The speed of light has been scientifically proven.

It it has never been disproven by gathering scientific community.

No aliens from other worlds on our Earth. No other worlds like Earth either. We are a fluke in the universe. We happened to be in the right place at the right time.No one has been able to create life on Earth from scratch.
 
Listening to the radio of the Roswell events, in New Mexico at the time of it's happening, listening to reports of the first military responders on the scene of a crash site, said to be some kind of unusual craft. Listening to reports of the military investigators describing alien-like bodies at the crash site, I thought aliens and flying saucers might be real. Later on the official explanation said the crash was simply a weather balloon come down. Days later, the military said there were no bodies. I thought back in the beginning it was a government cover-up. It has also seemed strange to me that countries around the world have investigated strange space craft. But today, I think not. I think not because I don't know.

In absence of anything else there is no hard evidence of extraterrestrials or spacecraft.

Conspiracies and and science fiction are more exciting than hard facts.

Communities like Roswell cook up stories for tourism.

I have a whole town full of pod people from somewhere, not of this world, another dimension or similar, (tweakerville maybe) college town so for sure another far away origin- they swear that the speed of dark is faster than the speed of light.--
 
Meteorites by the thousands enter our atmosphere 24 hrs./day, everyday. They are too small to see and burn up upon entering our atmosphere. Back in WWII America secretly investigated stealth technology and it is ongoing ever since. So if they have the technology to transport to Earth why can't they be invisible? People are brainwashed by stupid sci fi movies in to believing they come in spaceships. Why can't they arrive in laser beams type of technology? America will in the future send plant life in unmanned vessels to propagate the Martian soils with plant life in the form of algae. The long term plan is to create an atmosphere that would create oxygen. We are going to Mars because it will take many years to get it going but man will live on Mars in the future. The troubling question I have always had is will we have political conflict there when deciding which country lives where under what form of authority? The inhabitants there eventually will no longer resemble human form due to the atmosphere, gravity, etc. But don't get nervous we will all be long gone by then.

You leave out the facts that we are in the infant stages of exploring the universes (multiple) and how they started. Quantum physics is opening new doors we never dreamed of. Mathematical probability calculates life does exist elsewhere, in what form we will learn in the far distant future....hopefully. The Hubble opened up the minds and dreams of all scientists and all future telescopes will expand our knowledge even further. The truth is out there, we just have not yet found it.

There is no such thing as 'dark'. It's just an absence of light.

I'm not leaving out anything. I'm perfectly willing to discuss it.

Well mathematical probability is definitely just a theory and so far there is no evidence of life elsewhere.

Mathematical probability means that someone with all the tickets sold should win the powerball lottery. Any yet there are times when no one wins. And that's small potatoes compared to life in the universe.

You see you have to examine life on Earth as we know it. That's all we can go on. We can't make assumptions of other types of life. Now Earth is unique in the scheme of things. We happen to be in exactly the right spot to have life. We have an atmosphere which stops harmful radiation from our friendly sun. We happen to be exactly in the zone where we don't freeze to death or fry to death. We have liquid water which is essential to life.

Just examine our own solar system for example. The moon is relatively a short distance away. We have visited the moon. There is no life there. It has no atmosphere capable of absorbing harmful radiation. In fact that is the consideration for not going back there or to Mars for that matter.

Same for all the planets in our solar system that have been observed to date.

Now we are stuck with other worlds somewhere but you are stuck with the speed of light and getting there and back. Light speed is the limiting force in the universe. It's accepted as both theory and proof by scientists. It's something you have to live with.

Hubble didn't open anything we never knew before. The truth is. Life on Earth is unique and not common. You cannot create life on Earth from scratch even though you know the ingredients.

We should spend our time and money on Earth improving life instead of looking for it elsewhere.

There's nothing on Mars that we don't have on Earth or the Moon, so why go there? There are regions on Earth that are uninhabited for a reason.
