Do any of you ride?

We love it!

We don’t belong to a club, but we’ll sometimes ride with friends. We live close to the lake and there are some gorgeous gently curving roads with stunning views that we enjoy, with several different destinations in mind whether it be a drink or a meal, before we head back.

We recently switched from a Harley Road King to a Harley Police Special trike. It was bittersweet but Ron’s about to turn 75 and it became the safe thing to do. It was either switch to a trike or stop riding all together, and that’s not gonna happen!

We sure did love that Road King! 💕

Curious who else still rides, and if you do, what you ride

I used to. My first bike was a 1978 Suzuki 400 which I rode across the country and my second bike I got was a Kawasaki Ninji. Some of my best travelling has been done by myself on a motorcycle. It can be quite meditative.

AND I ‘would’ still ride but my husband made me get rid of my bike. A decision I deeply regret. I’d love another bike.

I used to ride with my husbands. Now that I think about it, almost every guy I ever went out with and all three that I have been married to had bikes. My last husband took me on our first date on his 66 Sportster that he still has. He has two Harleys now. But I had gotten where I could not ride on it due to my bad knees. I was not comfortable on it anymore.

Yes. I have been riding for over 65 years now. There aren't many pictures of me riding but here's an old one I could find (I don't do selfies). The picture was taken at my 35th HS reunion and later composed to use for the 40th. I used to show up at those things on a motorcycle.

We had an old Harely before we had kids.
It often broke down & when money was hard to come by,,it got sold.

When sons reached the teen years,, had bikes.
One for each of the males in the family .

Hubby & oldest son went to local dragsrip with V65 & corvette.
Must have been a scarey ride for hubby.
Came home & said ,"Never again."
Sold the V65 after that,, slowly sold all the bikes as sons left home.

When in California for the first time years ago I met a guy who offered me a ride on his bike. Having drank just enough beer to not think straight I, wearing a dress, got on his bike and we swooped down the road to another bar. I can still see motorists looking at us like we were crazy as my dress skirt blossomed out in the wind. The ride turned out fine, but what a stupid thing to do. Another biker thought I would be a good 'balance'? partner in some motorcycle race contest. A friend of his warned me against riding with the guy so I didn't. Haven't ridden a motorcycle since. :D

I'm an "uneasy rider". I do but I don't altogether enjoy it. I can take about 45 minutes on the back of the Harley and then I have to get off for a while and get my bones rearranged, so to speak.
I get it. I rode a Yamaha Maxim 650 for years until I broke my back. Haven't been able to ride anything motorized since then. My son rebuilt an old Vespa for me several years ago, but even that was hard on my back. It was fun, though.

My son has a motorcycle. I road with him once and never again. I was ok on the straightaway but turning the corners with my knee cap almost scraping the curb was a bit to much for me. I didn't know I was suppose to go with him as he turned but instead I was trying to keep it upright. It wasn't a fun ride.
This is a photo of his bike. Can you guess what it is?
He likes it because the name isn't plastered all over it. I have no idea why that matters.
It's not a Harley.
My son says HD stands for hundred dollars because any part or accessory you want or need for your Harley cost $100.00.

Sure it's fun but you have to know when to quit. I did after an old lady drove into me and broke 5 ribs and partially collapsed a lung. You had your fun. Go sit down. It CAN happen to you.
