Do I need to wear a bulletproof vest to lunch? A sort of funny story.

Yes, The world has become a very scary world... TV today I am sure gives lots of couks {SP} ideas... There is NOT a TV show on these days that doesn't have some kind of serious or very violent shooting... Between the video games, and Drama or Crime TV... Just makes the world scarier... We should have TV as we did years and years ago... Make us laugh instead of giving us ideas on how to kill someone or some people... And TV lately doesn't matter if you are wearing a bullet vest or not... cuz most shows they just shoot you in the head...

Not that it doesn't happen out in the rural areas, But I must rather live in the country nowadays than live in any city... That's just my two cents on this topic...

Every time I watch the local news, it seems that there is a shooting, almost daily, in the larger towns. In the larger cities, shootings are so common place that it doesn't even make the TV news reports, unless there are multiple victims. Out here, in the boondocks, it's not uncommon to hear gunshots....just locals shooting targets, or hunters during deer season, etc. I can only recall 1 killing in our area in the past 18+ years....some wife shot her abusive husband....and got probation.

Bullet proof armour c1880 - notorious outlaw Ned Kelly's body armour, home made.

Heh, look's like a scene from Black Adder. The square top headgear reminds me of the time Black Adder overslept and was late for the battle, he takes off and see's a man standing under a tree so he proceeds to run up behind him and lob his head off, it was the King ! haha

This brings up a good point. I read in this article that he had bullet wounds even with wearing armor. Many people have the perception that bulletproof vests are just that, but the opposite is true. Bulletproof vests will stop most all bullets, but not every bullet. Every now and then, one gets through. I think the last that I read was that bulletproof vests are anywhere from 98-98.5% effective. It’s that 1.5% that always concerned me.

I also read the story re: Mr. Kelly. He is infamous, as should be expected.
It's the bad ones that get remembered. I suspect wanting to be remembered is the basis for many mass killings.
