Do You Get An Annual Flu Shot

I have for years and never had any adverse reaction to them. I know some people are all for them and others are not.

Had mine yesterday. Never an adverse reaction, but I did get the flu one year despite the shot. Went to my doctor, who said something minimally comforting like "It would have been worse if you'd not had the shot." For the record, that sentiment did not make me feel any better.

I always get one. I've had a really bad case of the flu and never want to go through that again.

I got mine Friday and had one last year too. I have never had adverse effects but know others who swear they have.

Same happened to my husband and me one year. There was a year they were a little off predicting the strain. We were sick as dogs. I had to go to the drugstore and took my husband's van. Someone t-boned me in the intersection, running a red light. Totalled the vehicle. Then I felt twice as horrible!

Got them when I was younger, also got the flu. Haven't taken it in years and been flu-free. I question their effectiveness and questionable ingredients....prefer not to take it.

Flu shot

. Yes I got one last week with no reaction. I did get the flu several yrs. ago and I did have the shot, the dr. told me it was a kind the vaccine didn't cover.

Just got mine while I was in for a checkup. I have gotten one most years but skipped last year. Not sure if I really need it, but since I was there, I did. It was the 65+ high dose. Apparently us oldsters are more susceptible.

As Reliable Ralphy reported some time ago seniors may not benefit from the shot. It seems it does not trigger the aging immune system and seniors are probably better off with a healthy diet, plenty of vitamin D, and moderate daily exercise...

I've never had a flu shot and never had the flu, so none for me. I question their effectiveness, and my doctor isn't recommending it unless I want it.

A few years ago before I started getting flu jabs I had a bad case of flu for about 2 weeks. I didn't move from the sofa during the day. Awful. Only thing that helped was a concoction of hot water, lemon, honey, and whisky. After a few of those I didn't mind being sick so much.

I had the Flu back in the 50s sailing across the Atlantic. I felt like crap, but a lot of the others were not able to get out of bed, so I stood my watches in the engine room.

In recent years we get the shots religiously.

Flu shot each year. And, now, get the heavier senior dosage. Also, each morning...

Senior male vitamin
2,000 mg fish oil
B complex vitamin
1,000 mg Vitamin C
Statin
81 mg Aspirin

Haven't had flu or cold for years... knock on wood.
