Do you give to people on the street who ask for money?

My preference is to donate to a charity. They can buy more for the money. If the panhandlers find prime locations, they can be aggressive if you’re not donating. Some cities have a ‘parking’ meter designed for donations. I like that idea, though I never carry any cash any more. We have large numbers of street people here.
I have heard some are aggressive but fortunately never experienced that. They make it harder for the really desperate...I like giving to charity as well (y)

No I don't and specially when they are young. Most of the younger ones have warrants. Alcoholics will buy booze before food. I can't stand the ones that have "GOD BLESS" signs. You are not helping them at all when you give them money. Give your money to good causes.
But have you thought that just maybe some really are genuine in their God Bless signs? Maybe when they get on their feet they will remember the generosity they received and give to others..IMO that is worth a try and if I am wrong what have I lost except some dollars....

Around Christmans time I gave a man a $20. He was happy and that made me happy. I have also given to others in the past a few dollars here and there. Made me feel good inside to help. I haven't run across anyone lately but would give them a few if they asked.
The feeling is priceless, isn't it.... ♥️ :)

Some women fake pregnancy & borrow other people's kids & have them sit with them.
People are so gullible, it often works. At the end of their shift, they'll all get into their Mercedes SUV & drive off.
But again..so what if one is 'gullible' The intention was good and the scammer will deal with karma ...
