Do you go to bingo parlors?

NO bingo parlors in my area.

Non-profit organizations hold them in the volunteer fire halls - prime fundraising method!

Most attendees are groups of friends in their 40s and 50s with money to burn. They play bingo, play the tip sheets, and buy tickets for the baskets that are donated to the cause.

The old people are in the casinos playing the slots.

Same here. I've never heard of bingo parlours - but some sports clubs run bingo as a fund raiser. I dont think the stakes are very high.
It's not my thing and it is in day time when I am at work - so I've not attended

But good luck to those who enjoy it.

My MIL even with Alsheimer's liked to play bingo. My one time experience was when I went with my wife when she took her mother. I was really bored as each number was called for a particular kind of game. Once was enough for me.

Two decades ago on vacation on the isle of Malta a group of senior ladies asked if my wife and me liked to play Bingo with them. We refused, since the day would be over after we understood how to play it :ROFLMAO:

My knowledge of Bingo is heavily influenced by the series, Better Call Saul, where the Lawyer Saul Goodman, becomes a Bingo caller in an old people's home, so he can gather a following to start a class action suit against the company that runs the homes.

it's an extremely easy game to play...you just strike out the numbers on the card that are called out, and the first person to get a straight line of deleted numbers, calls Bingo..or House... and they are the winner...

There's no skill needed , it's a complete game of chance

Thank you for the explanation Holly. This is really easy.

I couldn't remember if diagonal lines are a win? Then I got this information from ChatGPT.

✅ Typical winning patterns in most Bingo games:

  • Horizontal line (any row)
  • Vertical line (any column)
  • Diagonal line (from corner to opposite corner)
  • Four corners
  • Full card / blackout
  • X, T, or other custom patterns (depending on game rules)

When I was a kid the biggest entertainment in town was the annual firehouse bizarre. When you got tired of the outdoor games and noise you could go inside, sit down and play bingo. That is my only experience with bingo.

Now I'm wondering where were the trucks? The place was empty except for the bingo tables. They must have been somewhere at the ready in case there was a fire.
