Do You Grill With Charcoal or Propane?

Neither ------Here's what I useRapid Wave Convection Countertop Halogen Oven 17 Quart

Use this once and you will never go back to Archaic Propane or Charcoal. It's cleaner, faster, energy efficient and can be used on a patio, balcony or in your home. Food does not have to be turned since a fan circulates the heat. I never use my oven or Bar B Q and haven't for years. Temps up to 525.

I got a Q220 about 10 years ago. Between the grill, cover, roll around cart, tank adapter, etc. - cost around $360. I have saved the cost of about 30 tanks, over my previous grill, which nearly fell apart after 5 years. Other than cleaning, I did purchase a new burner and valve/regulator a couple of years ago, which didn't need replacing after all was said and done.

If what I do is called grilling,I use propane. My son decided I needed a grill. I didn't want one but got one anyway. I love to cook and am pretty good at it but the grill is another story. I will never master it so I grill my way. I season the meat, throw it in the micro wave and cook until 90 percent done. Heat up the grill, season the meat again maybe brush on a little BBQ sauce or olive oil ,make nice marks on the meat and serve. Actually my son said my chicken was delicious. Little did he know. A tank of propane lasts me forever.

I have both. We love our BBQ brats in Wisconsin ! I mostly use the gas grill , but it's on it's last leg . They don't make them anymore for use with lava rocks . All the newer ones just look like outside broilers. I guess when my gas grill goes , I'll be using my good old Weber.

We used to use charcoal only. Got a gas grill once and hated it. But,now we`ve decided that the speed and convenience of gas is pretty cool so the only time we use our giant charcoal Weber anymore is for our Thanksgiving turkey. Been doing it on the Weber for over 40 years now and will never change.

Propane. You want the nice restaurant style crust on your steaks? Cook them in a cast iron pan on the grill.

Funny you should say that. I had a cast iron skillet that I had for years but never really knew how to season it properly (before the internet lol) so I never used it. Then, when cooking a prime rib roast on the Weber once,I threw the skillet underneath it to catch the drippings. That skillet came out perfectly seasoned and I have used it almost daily ever since!

I use mainly charcoal. I have a large charcoal kettle grill for occaisions. I have a small one a 20dollar wal mart model for just the two of us. For the camper I have a duplicate and also its 1lb gas bottle equivalent.
Out back we have a steel grate and a truck rim for when we use wood coals.
