My Favorite Chair that I purchased this week will be delivered late this afternoon and I can hardly wait. I have suffered too long in using very attractive chairs that just were not comfortable for this aging body in which I reside.
I bought a Lazy Boy Leather Recliner with all the Bells & Whistles. Electric adjustments for head, shoulders, back, butt, legs and feet. I may just use this instead of my bed for sleep.

This thread reminded me of when we were little. If we had company my sister and I always made them sit in the good chair. It was a gold leather chair with a matching ottoman that our mother bought on time. The chair literally glowed and sparkled next to the other castoff furniture and stodgy hand me down antiques in our living room.

My chair is an old overstuffed chair with a twin comforter tossed over it. When you see my old chair without the comforter you know it's a holiday or I have company coming, LOL!!!

Recliner with an electric motor, we bought 2, his and hers.

The hubby and I have matching recliners. Nothing special but very comfortable. Mine has a towel on the back where the bird sits and occasionally poops. We have a table in between that holds out TV controls etc. and a power strip on the floor for our heating pads that are always in easy reach for our various aches and pains.

We both have the power lift chair recliners. Great, and easy for those of us with limited mobility. I would never give mine up, and neither would my husband. My husband has a very bad back, due to a prior injury and arthritis. He cannot sleep lying down. He sleeps in his and loves it.
