Do you have a preferred airline?

If you can afford to fly business class, maybe you don't have this issue, but gosh airline travel is hard on my old joints.

Southwest always has the cheap seats, so I expect that. The bare minimum of leg room allowable by law. I accept that. But at least the Southwest seat had adequate padding.

I have had a very pleasant flight with Jet Blue in the far distant past so I was super-disappointed that while Jet Blue had good leg room, oh my God, I guess the padding on my seat was squished down from too many years of use? Now I am thinking I will have to pack a seat cushion in the future?

Do you have a preferred airline and/or what do you do to make those long flights tolerable? If you take a sleeping pill, what do you take?

When I was back & forth to/from Australia, Qantus was very good. Comfortable seats, good leg room and exceptional service.

When flying overseas, I fly British Airway Business Class, using my loyalty points, Not only is the experience on board great, but having access to the lounges at both ends is a plus.
Locally, I fly Southwest with us both taking aisle seats, If I have to fly to New York, I fly the red eye on Jet Blue out of Burbank, Also, their food court at JFK is fantastic.
